Sing Out Loud, Her Tone was Impressive in the 1st leg of the Winter Series

BRETT Crawford said that Tuesday’s facile Listed Sweet Chestnut Stakes winner, Sing Out Loud (5-1), needed time to mature and that the Covid-19 break had done her a world of good. Still, he was pleasantly surprised at the way she stepped up to win a good race in Listed company over the Kenilworth mile and said: “Off an MR90 she was going to have her work cut out, even though she is by Dynasty whose offspring are always progressive."

“We wanted some black type for her, but I didn’t expect this. She was very impressive. To come from where she came from, to pick them off, the second horse has good form, I was thoroughly surprised."

“Well done to Ridgemont/Highlands who bred her and I’m sure they enjoyed the manner in which she won.” Jockey Corne Orffer explained how Sing Out Loud beat what went against her in the race. “She fly-jumped and lost a few lengths, but she made up the ground. I left her to do it on her own. She was off the bit and I didn’t want to pick the bit up and get her to start racing on the turn. It was a great run from her, because when we came into the straight and I gave her the bit she just took off! She went through a tight gap, but when she quickened up she ran right to the line.” Sing Out Loud runs in the Ridgemont Silks, with Wayne Kieswetter as nominee. She was bred from a mare by A P Indy and Crawford will be looking for races over ground for her.
