The Brett Crawford-trained Varsfontein Stud-bred Master Of My Fate colt Zapatillas (purple colours) bursts into the Hollywoodbets Durban July picture by mowing down outsider Supreme Warrior to win the Grade 2 WSB Guineas under Luyolo Mxothwa.

The long-striding colt was having his first run since finishing a close third in the Grade 3 Politician Stakes over 1800m on WSB Met day on January 29 and after being switched outward from a handy position he ran on strongly and just got his head down in time to win by a short-head.

He is owned by Drakenstein Stud (Nom: Mrs G A Rupert), Mrs P A Isdell & Mr Ravi Naidoo.
